BREAKING: Supreme Court Rules AGAINST Trump. Millions Affected.

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled against Team Trump’s attempt to stop Obama-era regulations on clean water. With this devastating blow, SCOTUS stopped Trump’s assault on the environment dead in its tracks.

The rule in question was put in place by Obama and protect small waterways like ponds and streams. The rule keeps businesses from building too close to this water and contaminating it.

Trump asked the Supreme Court to indefinitely pause any further implementation of the rule. Trump went so far as to sign an executive order that instructed the Army Corp of Engineers to “revise and reconsider” the rule.

After all, Trump would rather spend his days golfing and watching cable than actually governing. As disgusting as this is, perhaps it is a good thing since his ideas for the country are terrible.

This is great news for the millions of Americans who live near waterways or who just want to keep our environment safe from pollution.

The rule in question keeps streams, wetlands, ponds and other waterways clear of the pollution that many businesses would throw into them without a second thought.

All of this comes out on the same day that the Senate Judiciary Committee is set to decide on Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court Nomination.

How embarrassing for Team Trump! On one of the biggest days for the SCOTUS nominee, that same court comes down hard against Trump.

You won’t find any of us here at Learn Progress shedding a tear. We’re proud to have a Supreme Court that is willing to protect the water and air in such a meaningful way.

While this is a great win, there is no time to celebrate now. We must write our representatives to let them know that protecting our environment is not negotiable. After all, profits mean nothing without clean air and water.
